Description
The Inflatek® valve provides long life and reliability when handling hot and abrasive materials. The unique inflatable seal traps abrasive particles on closing preventing their movement under the effect of the pressure differential. This action ensures wear resistance from particles, operating reliability and valve performance.
This valve provides a reliable leak proof seal that prevents ultra fine powders as well as abrasive granules from seeping into vessels. The low maintenance and simple inspection design makes it easier on the whole process. It is used with pressure vessels when dealing with dense phase pneumatic conveying.
Suitable where the work environment must remain clear of dust, this valve provides total containment via an inflatable seal. Able to withstand temperatures as high as 350°C, it is available in a wide range of metals to better suit your product characteristics.
The valve is widely used to retrofit ash valves requiring high maintenance or frequent replacement.

Closed valve
The operating sequence of the Inflatek® valve is very simple and effective.
90° rotation
The spherical component rotates 90°to pass through a static or moving column of abrasive ash to the closed position where an inflatable seal is pressurised to entrap particles and prevent their movement.
Valve on vessel
Providing long life and reliability when handling hot and abrasive materials.
Inflatek valve Palamatic Process
The inflatable seal reliably achieves a pressure differential of 7barg (100psi) at a high temperature.
Inside view of the valve
The inflatable seal reliably achieves a pressure differential of 7barg (100psi) at a high temperature.
Inflatable seal is available in all kinds of polymers
Capable of maintaining a seal in 100% vacuum or even when there is a vacuum on one side of the valve and positive pressure on the other.
Features
Technical specification
Inflatable seal is available in all kinds of polymers to suit an array of materials ranging from abrasive dusts to food products.
The design of the seal protects the valve from friction while in use.
Whether the material is flowing into an open discharge or sits static in a column, the valve is intended to cut through and provide an air tight seal.
The Inflatek® valve has one moving part with a "lubricated for life" bearing and is designed for low-maintenance. The replacement can be performed within an hour.
Tungsten Carbide or Teflon shells are offered for those whose materials are abrasive or cohesive.
The Inflatek® Valve is also capable of maintaining a seal in 100% vacuum, or even when there is a vacuum on one side of the valve and positive pressure on the other.
The operating sequence of the Inflatek® valve is simple and effective:
The spherical component rotates 90° through a static or moving column of abrasive ash to the closed position, where an inflatable seal is pressurised to entrap particles and prevent their movement. The inflatable seal reliably achieves a pressure differential of 7barg (100psi) at a high temperature.
The standard size range is 2” to 16”, and 670ºF with inline configuration for pipeline service or bulkhead configuration for pressure vessel inlet. Special Inflatek® Valves are available to 30” and 43 barg (623.5psi) with a range of materials of construction.
