Processed powder: barite
Oil drilling muds
Company working in the treatment of drilling muds. Barite, high density and abrasive material, is used as a binder in drilling muds to facilitate the work of the drill bit.
The installation consists of a sack tube lifter, a 7-metre long inclined conveyor belt and an automatic opening machine Varislit®.
Due to the abrasiveness of the material, the machine is equiped with a centralized lubrication system and cutting blades with a diamond coating to prevent premature wear.
An industrial dust collector with integrated fine cleaning is installed directly on top of the machine. It allows a contained operation with circulation of fines in a enclosed circuit.
The obtained drain coefficient is about 99.97%.
Once the bag is emptied, it is evacuated to a polyethylene sheath, thus ensuring better containment of the operation.
The Barite is then evacuated via a 10 mm mesh vibrating chute to two 6-metre long mechanical conveying screws. The screws are assembled in cascade to avoid intermediate bearings and limit preventive maintenance due to abrasion.
At the end of the screw, a truck filling spout is used to fill the transport cars. The barite is then taken to the processing center before being transported to the drilling platforms. The flow rate of the installation allows to treat 600 bags of 50 kg which means 30 t./h.
