Processed material: refined sugar
Refined sugar conveying
Objective:
On-site installation of repackaging equipment for the transfer of sugar stored in shipping containers with an inner liner to a bulk bag packaging line.
Operation procedure:
The shipping container, positioned on a truck with an independent tipping system, is connected to the Palamatic Process pneumatic transfer skid. The transfer skid is composed of the following equipment:
- a lump breaker to remove any lumps in the material that may form during shipment and exposure to humid conditions. This is particularly an issue with most sugars, such as brown sugar.
- a magnetic bar for line protection and ATEX safety
- a rotary valve providing a steady feed rate of sugar into the pneumatic transfer line. The rotary valve is the easy clean design type, which allows quick dismantling and sanitation.
- a transfer booster provides consistent pressure within the conveying line.
This sugar loading skid is installed on a self-contained and mobile structure, which allows an easier connection to the bag liner / shipment container. On receipt of the pneumatic conveying, an atex rated cyclonic filter provides the supply of material either to the storage silos or the bulk bag packaging line via a switching mechanism.
The bulk bag packaging line equipment is Palamatic Process’ FlowMatic® 04 series with an integrated bulk bag liner (pallet interlayer) and a bulk bag cover.
