This installation relates to an international group specialising in the manufacture of polyamides which wishes to set up an octabin sealing system at the end of a packaging line.

The octabin is fitted with a inner liner and a lid after it has been filled previously on another line.
The octabin is then positioned on a pallet and placed on the roller conveyor using a forklift truck. Located below the roller conveyor is a vibrating table which can retract so there is no interference with the conveyor. When raised, the vibrating table comes into contact with the pallet under the octabin. The duration of the vibration densification phase can be adjusted via an electrical control cabinet. 

This system secures the octabin on the pallet and ensures homogeneous filling of the material. By incorporating load cells into the filling system design, a consistent fill weight can be maintained for distribution and sale of the packaged material (commercial weighing). After the filling procedure is finished, the operator, with a sealing lid, takes position on the raised platform above the filled container. The platform design ensures safe access to the octabin for the sealing operation to commence.

Once the densification is completed, an automatic vacuum of the inner liner is used to remove oxygen for protection of the product. The operator then proceeds with the sealing of the octabin by welding the inner liner. Once welded, the operator places the lid on top of the octabin which then moves to the lid pressing system via the roller conveyor. 

The lid pressing device is designed with a pneumatic system, pressure regulator and guide rollers for the vertical motion needed to seal the lid. Once the lid is pressed and the octabin is closed, the container is removed using a forklift truck. The sealing line is fitted with a safety fence to protect any workers from moving mechanical parts.
An integrated touch screen control panel allows the operator to control the entire sealing station.
