Feeding a multi-ingredient mixing line

 

A rubber parts manufacturer optimizes the preparation of its premixes using the DosingMatic® Master.

 

Context

RubberTech, a manufacturer of rubber parts, was looking to improve the preparation of its pre-mixes for feeding its "Banbury" type mixing line with hot melt bags. The rubber and tire manufacturing process requires the use of various ingredients such as accelerators, antioxidants, antiozone, fillers, vulcanizing agents, pigments, plasticizers, reinforcing agents and resins.
RubberTech wanted to optimize this process by automating the dosage of these ingredients and chose the DosingMatic® Master from Palamatic Process.

 

Solution

3 DosingMatic® Master modules have been integrated into the RubberTech production line to automate the precise dosing of the different ingredients used in the preparation of pre-mixes. The solution included 12 screw feeders and vibrating feeders to ensure simultaneous and precise dosing of ingredients, as well as 12 motorized weighing conveyors to transfer the dose collection containers under each feeder.

 

Results

The implementation of the DosingMatic® Master allowed RubberTech to achieve the following results:

  1. Improved dosing accuracy: Thanks to the integrated weighing system and the screw feeders and vibrating feeders, the dosing accuracy of ingredients has been significantly improved, thereby reducing raw material losses and ensuring consistent quality of pre-mixes.
     
  2. Increased productivity: The DosingMatic® Master allowed RubberTech to automate its dosing process, reducing the time spent on this production step and increasing the company's overall productivity.
     
  3. Traceability of ingredients: the integrated control system of the DosingMatic® Master allows optimal management of the dosing process and ensures complete traceability of the dosed ingredients. Editing the weighing ticket by scanning ensures insertion into the Banbury mixer. RubberTech can thus guarantee its customers the quality and conformity of its rubber parts.
     
  4. Flexibility and adaptability: the modularity of the DosingMatic® Master allowed RubberTech to adapt it to their specific needs, thus offering a tailor-made solution for their production process.

 

Conclusion

The integration of the DosingMatic® Master into RubberTech's production process has significantly improved dosing accuracy, ingredient traceability and the company's overall productivity.
