Injection of sodium bicarbonate

 

Sulphur dioxide and other pollutants (mercury, fine particles, hydrogen chloride, etc.) are treated by injecting slaked lime or sodium bicarbonate directly into the fumes.
 
The use of suitable absorbents, lime or sodium bicarbonate, makes it possible to meet the most stringent HCI (hydrochloric acid) discharge standards without significant overdose. Hydrochloric acid is the main acid pollutant in the Waste Energy Upgrading Units (WUU). 
Sodium bicarbonate is an alkaline reagent used for the treatment of incineration fumes. The advantages of this absorbent are its high reactivity and low residue production

The flue gas cleaning process induces the removal of heavy metals. The fumes from the waste (household waste incinerator, industrial waste) are continuously sprayed with ground sodium bicarbonate. An injection pipe implanted in the flue gas duct is directly fed by a UM360 pin mill (impact mill)
The Palamatic Process pin mill plays an important role since the grain size has a direct impact on the efficiency of the purification process. Indeed, the exchange surface of the reagent (sodium bicarbonate) must be as high as possible.

The granulometric distribution of the injected material (SPAN) directly impacts the mass quantity to be injected. The crushing operation avoids any crumbling problems.
The installation integrates a volumetric or weight dosing system. The D12 screw feeder is loaded from a big bag of bicarbonate or a storage silo depending on consumption. At the outlet of the pin mill, a fan ensures the injection of the ground bicarbonate directly into the flue gas duct.
