Calcium carbonate loading into a storage tank
Objective: installation of equipment for the discharge of 1,000 kg bulk bags to load into a storage tank.
For this project our client company was a specialist in the manufacture of special coatings for corrosion protection, paint and waterproofing.
For loading of the bulk bag, the loops are secured to the handling cross which can be manipulated by electric hoist. This FIBC unloading unit, low structure design EasyFlow® EF0 is designed for manual opening of all types of bulk bags, super sacks and FIBC’s.
Once the bulk bag is positioned and secured on the main tray, the operator opens the unlacing cabinet to untie the bulk bag spout for discharge of the material. When unloading the bulk bag, the operator positions the spout in the anti-overflow tube. This allows the material to empty into the cylinder while containing the product.
In order to smooth product flow during discharge, the main activator tray is placed on silent blocks. When the discharge is complete, the bulk bag is taken off the station using the hoist and handling cross.
A tubular screw conveyor is fitted under the bulk bag discharging station for feeding the material into the storage tank at a mass flow rate of 3,000 kg/hr.
The screw conveyor is connected to the storage tank by means of a flexible fitting that provides a dust tight seal.
An electrical control panel is used for the operation of the discharge and conveying line.
