Processed powders: lime + additives
Lime and minerals packing
Palamatic worked with this specific company which is one of the world's leading producers of lime, dolomitic lime and other minerals.
The installation involved a FlowMatic®05 bulk bag filling station with suspended weighing system. The bulk materials handled are a mixture of lime and additives. Bulk powders have a particle size of 0 to 100µm for a density of 0.7. This station packages bulk bags (also known as FIBC, super sacks, big bags, jumbo bags) with 4 handles weight 1,100 to 1,760 lbs.
The FlowMatic® 05-HC includes a hydraulic cylinder for the lifting and lowering of the suspended bulk bag. It provides an efficient and flexible solution for packaging bulk powders subject to hygienic constraints, as well as reducing the floor space requirement for installation.
The FlowMatic® 05-HC bulk bag filling station ensures containment, weight control and filling optimization.
The main structure is composed of a system for holding the loops of the super sack and tensioning the bulk bag via height adjustment of the hooks.
The double-walled filling tube is connected to the system by a flexible seal ensuring containment and non-interference for weighing.
The filling head uses an inflatable seal with a size adjustable clamping ring for different diameters of bulk bag spouts installation and security.
The weighing is conducted from above the filling head via load cells.
The bulk bag is manually positioned by the operator whom slides the handles over the forks. The bulk bag spout is positioned on the inflatable seal and then lifted by the hydraulic cylinder. Once the bulk bag is in place, filling and dosing can be done automatically.
The operational cycle is completed when the bulk bag is filled and the seal deflates allowing for removal of the package with a forklift truck.
