Our client is a pharmaceutical production plant that is responsible for the manufacture of injectable substances for the medical sector.
Objectives: Improve operator ergonomics and minimize intervention by designing equipment that allows precise packaging and advanced containment of pharmaceutical products.
Packaging in a pharmaceutical environment:
Palamatic Process has developed a combined bulk bag and drum filling system based on a standard FlowMatic® 02 with adaptation to also fill drums. The advantage of this equipment lies in its compact and modular design, which makes it possible to handle both drums and super sacks.
This industrial equipment is comprised of three main sub-assemblies: filling chute, main structure, and weighing device. The filling trough is located under the process outlet point. It consists of two telescopic tubes that slide into each other, depending on the nature of the batch (bulk bag or drum), as well as the filling level of the bulk bag.
Cleaning: in order to facilitate this important part of the process requirement, the filling head can be dismantled in less than 10 seconds in order to be cleaned in an adjacent room.
The weighing system has been developed and designed so that the dosing system can be adapted to target ranges from 175 lbs for drums, to 1300 lbs for bulk bags.
The equipment was manufactured in 304 stainless steel with a fine microbead blast finish. The mechanical assemblies are covered and all possible retention points carefully designed to limit any material trap points as well as the stagnation of cleaning fluids.
The process has been designed to avoid the need for extensive handling while also achieving more than optimal material containment.
