Client objective

The client, an industrial bakery company, aimed to optimize its production process, in particular by improving the efficiency and reliability of the handling of its powdered ingredients, such as flour, sugar, and other raw materials.
The main challenge was to ensure a continuous flow of ingredients to the production lines while respecting hygiene and food safety standards and operational flexibility requirements, in particular with a flour looping system. In response to these needs, Palamatic Process offered a complete solution for storage, unloading, pneumatic transfer, sieving, mixing bowl feeding, flour feeding, and powder distribution.

This bakery production line was designed taking into account the customer's specific requirements, including the handling of different grades of flour and the integration of a flour looping system, allowing unused flour to be recycled and ensuring circulation optimal flour throughout the production line.

This approach reduces raw material losses and contributes to more efficient use of resources, while maintaining high quality standards.

Industrial equipment making up the installation

Rigid stainless steel silos for powders (3 x 60 T)

The aim is to ensure large volume storage of flours of different grades for continuous and flexible supply of the production process, in particular for the flourer and bowl mixer feed lines. To achieve this, the silos are built from stainless steel to meet hygiene requirements and are equipped with humidity and temperature control systems, thus guaranteeing the quality of the flour stored. Finally, integrated boosters ensure efficient truck unloading, with air treatment to maintain optimal conditions inside the silos.


The big bags emptying system with EasyFlow® 125 electric hoist

The EasyFlow® 125 system incorporates a waterproof connection head, an electric hoist for handling big bags and safety options such as safety bars and a vibrating deposit plate. Integrated dosing allows for precision when transferring raw materials. It allows the unloading of micro-ingredients from big bags, while limiting dust emissions and offering flexibility to directly fill the bowl mixer tanks under the emptying stations.


The rotating centrifugal sieve

Sieving the powders with the elimination of foreign bodies and agglomerates thus guarantees the quality of the ingredients used, including special flours and label flours. The IRS 275 rotary centrifugal sieve model in 304L stainless steel, equipped with a 0.6 mm mesh, is capable of processing a flow rate of 5,500 kg/h on flour and ensures compliance with hygiene standards (3A and EHEDG Agroalimentaire Label) .


The pneumatic transfer system with flour looping

The flour looping system, by pneumatic transfer, allows efficient transfer of flour from silos or big bags to production equipment (kneaders and flour mixers). It guarantees a nominal feed, while ensuring the curling of the flour. The flour circulates continuously around the production line by cyclo separators without filters. The system regularly supplies flour mixers, which make a product call and then return to the cyclofilters. The transfer process is thus fluid and optimized.
 

Pressure management and truck unloading safety

A secure bridging board allows trucks to be emptied in complete safety, with integrated servo systems, offering an ergonomic solution to transporters when loading silos. In the event of a problem, an audible alert system effectively manages silo pressure and loading levels.
 

Access platforms and maintenance solutions

Galvanized steel platforms were installed to allow secure access to operators for maintenance operations on the equipment.

These platforms offer enhanced safety thanks to their resistance to impact and abrasion, ensuring stable and reliable support for work at height.

All equipment complies with ATEX standards to guarantee safety in the presence of explosive dust. The equipment also complies with 3A and EHEDG Food Label hygiene standards.


Flexibility and adaptability

The solution enables efficient and continuous pneumatic transfer of powders, with a flour looping system that offers great operational flexibility. The possibility of switching to semi-manual mode offers the possibility of direct filling of the bowl mixer tanks under the big bag emptying stations.

Stainless steel silos, humidity and temperature control systems, and unloading equipment ensure a continuous and reliable flow of powders, minimizing production stoppages and guaranteeing the quality of specialty flours and label flours.

The supply system has been designed to provide an ergonomic and safe working environment, with easy access for transporters and alert systems in the event of a pressure problem.

Thanks to the installation of this complete powder handling solution, including equipment dedicated to feeding the bowl mixer, feeding the flour mixer, as well as lines for special flours and label flour, the bakery company was able to significantly improve its operational efficiency.
