Production of polyethylene flakes

Product: Low density polyethylene

Our client in the petrochemical industry, is a producer of chemicals such as low-density polyethylene. At the end of the customer's high temperature manufacturing process, the polyethylene is injected into flakers to create polyethylene flakes which often become agglomerated.

The customer wanted to export this material in big bags approximately 935 lbs. The low density of this product makes it possible to obtain big bags of 1.2 m³. The production capacity requested by the customer is approximately 10 big bags / hr for a station, with the overall process comprising of 2 complete and identical lines.

In order to respond to the customer's problem, Palamatic Process responded with 2 lines each comprising of:

  • 1 EC50 lump breaker
  • 1 buffer storage hopper of 4500L
  • 1 high flow rate dispenser
  • 1 Flowmatic 04 big bag filling station with pallet unstacker and big bag conveyors
  • 1 complete control cabinet
