Extruder feed line
Powder feed line dedicated to extrusion lines.
Palamatic Process, drawing on its experience in the field of polymer compounds and the food industry, has developed an automatic line for loading extruders from powders stored in bulk bags and/or in sacks.
- Metering of product feed
- High precision dosing
- Cleaning option available
Two possible configurations:
- The ExtruFlow®-Gravi line for overhead processes where raw materials are mounted at the "head" of the extrusion line. This implementation involves platforms with different levels.
The ExtruFlow®-Line for flat extrusion processes. The raw materials deconditioned on the ground are transferred by pneumatic conveyor to the feeders located at the head of the extruder.
Precision and continuity of material supply:
Feeding extruders requires high precision in the dosing of ingredients as well as the continuity of the feed to be extruded. Therefore, the loading line incorporates a buffer reserve to accommodate material changes (bulk bags) while continuing the extrusion process.
What packaging for the raw materials?
The powders are initially packaged in sacks or bulk bags. Depending on the flow rate and the number of ingredients to be processed, the ExtruFlow® line incorporates bulk bag unloading stations and sack tip trays.
Preparation of the ingredients mix:
The preparation of the powders upstream of the screw or twin-screw extruder incorporates a continuous mixer which is sometimes heated to condition the powders before their extrusion. The Palamatic ExtruFlow® line, dedicated to polymer compound applications, integrates a double casing conveying screw with multiple inlets, which provides premixing and temperature control of the powders.
Precise dosing:
The dosing of various ingredients is provided by the weight screw feeders. These screw feeders ensure a continuous and very high precision feed. The precision regularity is achieved via the technology used by the screw feeders. Feeding systems for dosing screws allow this regularity. The level probes installed in the buffer hoppers of the dosing units ensure continuity without interrupting the supply to the extruder.
Cleaning the ExtruFlow® line:
Extruders wishing to change production can select the cleaning option by integrating the hygienic dosing from the Easy Clean Palamatic range. In addition, configurations with washing nozzles integrated into the buffer hopper ensure perfect cleaning. The wash cycle is generally initiated when there is a change in manufacturing batches or changes in manufacturing recipes.
